I-75 at US 301 Interchange

  • Location:
    Manatee County, Florida
  • Client:
    FDOT
  • Completed:
    2025
The I-75 at US 301 Interchange is the northern gateway to Manatee and Sarasota Counties and one of the most heavily traveled corridors in the region. Serving as both a daily commuter route and a critical evacuation pathway, this section of roadway faced ongoing congestion and safety challenges due to outdated merge loop ramps.

To address these issues, Leware Construction, in joint venture with Ajax, delivered a series of major improvements. The project included new ramp bridges spanning the Manatee River and the widening of I-75 at Salt Marsh. These upgrades have expanded roadway capacity, enhanced traffic flow, and significantly improved safety for all travelers.

Project Highlights:
  • Constructed nearly 8,000 linear feet (378,250 square feet) of new or widened bridge deck.
  • Drove approximately 37,500 linear feet of prestressed pile
  • Set 30,700 linear feet of prestressed beams
  • Poured more than 21,000 cubic yards of concrete
